Ken Marlon Charles, also known as KMC proved his worth as a Soca artiste showing the audience his versatile styles of performing as well as his huge repertoire dating since the 1990’s.

This time, on Tuesday 6th February, 2007, the audience were treated to the majestic sounds of the Roy Cape All Stars band and its frontline singers Blaxx, Trini Jacobs and Olatunji Yearwood.

Thousands of people left their places of employment during their lunchtime break to enjoy the mini concert courtesy the main sponsor, Bmobile. This week-long activity began on Monday 5th February, 2007, and already people displayed excitement for this time-off during the day from their daily routines.

NACC Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition 2007 in pictures

The Government is in trouble over crime, young calypsonians are not afraid to say so, and the singers are putting their faith in God.

Those were the messages coming out of the Young Kings Calypso Monarch Competition held on Monday night at St James Ampitheatre by the National Action Cultural Committee (NACC).

The 21 performers sang at a very high standard offering a variety of styles, many backed by entrancing dancers and lively actors.

Dressed as a pastor, Bodyguard (Roger Mohammed) amused all with his song “Ungrateful” which took aim at an unnamed public figure (guess who!) referred to as “you ungrateful pastor” for espousing religious thoughts while the population was suffering poverty.
