Members of TriniSoca.com visited Klassic Ruso at the Kavemer Pub on 17th January, 2007, to witness TUCO North Zone’s Calypso Tent rehearsals. Calypsonians, who are due to perform on the opening night, filled the pub along with others who were there to give their support.
On arrival at the venue we met the Calypsonian, Fitzroy ‘Ebony’ Joseph, singing his 2007 Calypso, followed by Dorril ‘Versatile’ Hector, Hamidullah ‘Hamidullah’ Waheed and Robbie G. They worked alongside the Ed Watson Brass Circle band to ensure that there was a correct blend with the band’s music and the Calypsonian’s songs.
Also present at the rehearsals were Calypsonians such as Kelvin ‘Mighty Duke’ Pope, Marva ‘Marvellous Marva’ Mc Kenzie and Sexy Suzie. They all sat among their peers taking in the performances by members of their fraternity.
Also, there was a brief meeting headed by Mark ‘Contender’ John about what was to be expected on the opening night.
The Opening Night of Klassic Ruso would take place on Friday 19th January, 2007 at Kavermar Pub, Henry Street, Port of Spain.
