Reigning International Groovy Soca Monarch, Shurwayne Winchester, has resigned as a permanent member of the soca band Traffik. His publicist yesterday issued a press release stating that Winchester will officially exit the band on October 16 in what is an “amicable” separation.

Protector quits ‘stressful’ TUCO post
Michael “Protector” Leggerton has resigned as president of the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organisation.

He cited medical considerations for his departure from office during a telephone interview yesterday.

Although he is yet to present his resignation letter to the TUCO general counsel at its next scheduled meeting today, Leggerton said it was a done deal and he was going to focus on himself and his health.
