No amount of water could quell the fire that Bunji Garlin caused at Woodford Square on Thursday 8th February, 2007. He and the Asylum band were able to attract a sea of thousands to the Square and entertain them with many of his popular hits. This crowd was possibly the largest, so far, of the bmobile concert series which, according to Bunji Garlin, is testimony of the love that his fans have for him despite not releasing a ‘big tune’ for Carnival 2007.

Joining the people’s lyricist was Asylum band member, Ninjitsu and Faye-Ann Lyons-Alvarez. The audience was quite responsive to Lyons who moved the crowd with her powerful sound.

Also joining Bunji Garlin and the Asylum band was “the big man in the Soca Business”, Neil Iwer George. He came out near the end of the concert and totally blew the audience away with his Soca tunes. Incredibly, after many years in the Soca industry, Iwer still possesses the recipe for Soca hits year after year.

Tomorrow would be the last day of the Soca in the Square concert series. It would be left to the audience to determine which featured artiste was their favourite.
