Explainer in Concert: D’ Awakening

On Wednesday 11th November, 2015, calypso lovers were treated to a very special night of calypso entertainment at De Nu Pub (formerly Mas Camp Pub) in Woodbrook, Port of Spain. The occasion was the long-awaited “Explainer in Concert: D’ Awakening”, a well-coordinated project organised by his daughter and manager Stageann Mason. The event also marked the sixty-eight birthday anniversary of this veteran calypsonian who delighted the packed audience with some of his memorable songs including the classic "Lorraine”. The line-up of performers included pannist extraordinaire Ken 'Professor' Philmore, Chucky Gordon, Karene Asche, Victoria Cooper, Rondell Donawa and Allan Welch. This event was emceed by Godfrey Pierre and music was provided by Cummings & D Wailers Kaiso band.
