Straker village has the best and most peaceful view and should be the most peaceful village in the whole of trinidad, and from what i hear that is not so.

Mr. Straker 1907-2000, a veteran of Laventille, after whom Straker Village was named because he built the first hut there.

It is truly hard to believe that this place was the source of Quarry activities and operations, it looks like it never existed, is the trail seen in the lower right-center of this picture, is a remnant of the 'Jeremy Quarry?'

Mr. Oba has become the most photogenic celebrity, and intrepid explorer, as he is seen in other pictures on Triniview.com photo gallery displaying Trinidad and Tobago's multi-cultural and natural environment.

'House on the Hill': I Truly admire the Great confidence and determination the residents of Laventille, no challenge is too great in the building of a house on the slopes of Straker Village.

When I first saw this picture, I thought this area was a conduit servicing the Picton Hill resevoir. Thanks to Christine for explaining the Historical purpose of the Ft. Picton tunnel. It is truly Astounding and Amazing!

It is indeed the Most Unique, Historical Fortifications ever seen, and what is even Most Impressive, is that 'Fort Picton' has not only endured and withstood the most decisive and pivotal battles in the History of T&T, this structure also resisted decades of harsh elements and weather.

It is Really Impressive, that from one location in Laventille's Straker Village, you have an Awesome, and Panoramic view of various locations of our Capital City and the surrounding environs, such as the 'NP House' and the Tanker vessel docked in the harbour. Great photo-capture Christine.
