@Mohammed The building was opened on the 17th September, 1892. Destroyed by fire on the 1st April, 1920, and rebuilt on the same plan as the old building, and reopened in June 1923.

As a child I would spend Sundays at this very Museum. It was considered a treat. Thank you for bring back some very great memories :)

This is really a wonderful and historically priceless building not just for what it contains. Such beautiful architecture captures a small piece of our rich heritage.
