Kaiso Showcase Judging Night 2018

On Thursday 25th January, 2018, the Kaiso Showkase Calypso Tent hosted their Judges Night at the O.W.T.U. Palms Club, 25-31 Pointe a Pierre Road, San Fernando. A cast of Twenty-five calypsonians competed for a place in the semi-final round of the competition.

Sixteen calypsonians sang in the first half of the show. Some of the songs included “Tomorrow” by Ronaldo London, “Shattered Home” by Victoria ‘Queen Victoria’ Cooper, “We Could Do Better Than That” by Michael ‘Protector’ Legerton, “War of Words” by Steve ‘Ras Kommanda’ Pascall, “Our Dying Values” by Sonia ‘Singing Sonia’ Francis, “The Only Natural Diaster” by Meguella Simon and “Hard Times” by Joanne Foster.

The show’s programme was hosted by comedian and radio host, Damion Melville. Music was provided by the tent’s resident band Temperature and the Kaiso Flame back-up singers. This tent is managed by Steve ‘Ras Kommanda’ Pascall.
