Explainer's Birthday Party : Gems of the Past Concert

On Saturday 11th November, 2017, calypso lovers were treated to a night of calypso and steelpan entertainment at the Government Plaza Auditorium, Richmond Street, Port of Spain. Calypso icon, Winston ‘Explainer’ Henry celebrated his seventieth birthday in the form of a concert titled “Gems of the Past”. This event was organized by his daughter and manager, Stageann Henry-Mason.
The line-up of performers included Organizer, Johnny King, Victoria Cooper, 2013 National Junior Calypso Monarch, Jeromy Rodriguez, pannist extraordinaire Dane Galston, former national calypso monarchs, Sugar Aloes, Karene Asche, Devon Seale and Chuck Gordon. Musical accompaniment for the evening was by Cummings & D Wailers. This show was emceed by Godfrey Pierre.
