Kalypso Revue Calypso Tent 2016

On Saturday 16th January 2016, the Kalypso Revue Tent judging night was hosted at the Seamen and Waterfront Workers Trade Union (SWWTU) Hall on Wrightson Road, Port of Spain. The tent, which is managed by veteran calypsonian Michael “Sugar Aloes” Osuna, was filled with enthusiastic lovers of the calypso art form.

Emcee Sprangalang was there, not only to introduce the performing artistes and competitors, but to intermittently provide his usual dry humour, much to the enjoyment of the audience.

Among the dignitaries present to enjoy the 2016 offerings were Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Dr. Keith Rowley, Minister of Works and Transport Fitzgerald Hinds, Minister of Community Development Nyan Gadsby Dolly, and former FIFA Vice President and ex-ILP leader Jack Warner.

Some of the well-received songs included: “Respect the Voice of God” by Devon Seale, Alana Sinette’s “Moron Or Oxymoron”, and “Ah Sorry” by Ninja.
