The much-anticipated Soca for Summer concert had finally arrived on Saturday 21st July, 2007, at the Jean Pierre Complex following an exceptional night of Kaiso for Summer. Unlike the first night, which mostly contained a mature audience, the Soca for Summer concert was filled with thousands of youths who came out to support the "big man in the business" for his achievement of twenty successful years in the Calypso and Soca arenas.

The crowd stretched from the stage to the gate of the Jean Pierre Complex venue. The V.I.P section was scantier and occupied about one eighth of the venue. Local celebrities and dignitaries such as Senator the Honorable Joan Yuille-Williams found accommodation there.

Some of the dynamic performers included Ken Marlon 'KMC' Charles with his band Red, White and Black; Jungle; Rohan 'Fireball' Richards who has recently topped the European charts with his hit "What I Want"; the band Traffik with front men Shurwayne Winchester, Keegan Taylor and Sean Caruth Traffik, and 'Lil Bits'.

Other spectacular performances included those by Asylum band members whose front man Ian 'Bunji Garlin' Alvarez, got the audience in a frenzy; Faye-Ann Lyons-Alvarez who was able to control the audience with several of her hits including "Move"; Ziggy Rankin with his powerful voice; Devon 'Prophet Benjamin' Samuel who was a definite crowd favorite; and 'Lady Warrior' who along with 'Silver' 'mashed-up' the place and received several pleas from the audience to repeat the performance.

Between the change of bands several dancers graced the stage doing several of the new dances that the young public seems to enjoy including the famous 'hot wuk' and 'dutty wine' dances. The dancers delivered as expected and they had the full support of the audience.

After a grand performance the night before, the man formerly known as 'Iwer' took to the stage. Before his performance was the announcement to the audience of his highly anticipated name change: Neil 'D'Boss' George.

Neil 'D'Boss' George sang a few songs from his huge repertoire including "Fete after Fete", "On a Bam Bam", "Bottom in the Road", "We Reach", "Party Hot Hot Hot", "Boom Boom Time" and "Na Do Dat". The excitement in the audience grew with his hot Soca tune "De People Want Water". Members of the audience were given bottled water and on cue proceeded to follow in 'D'Boss' footsteps and cooled down the 'fire' with water.

Soca legend, Austin 'Super Blue' Lyons, also joined Neil 'D'Boss' George on stage for another fantastic performance following in the vein of the previous night. They both left the stage to greet and serenade Senator the Honorable Joan Yuille-Williams with warm hugs and praises.

The night ended well with a few more acts to follow after Neil 'D'Boss' George's explosive performance. The audience left the show satisfied, expressing by their energy and excitement that they had an enjoyable experience at the show.

Given the growing response of the public to the Soca for Summer concert, it is certain that next year's show would be even greater.
