Thousands of youths gathered on the tennis courts of the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo, for the annual Youth Fest on January 27, 2007, put on by Randy Glasgow Productions Ltd. Teenagers and young adults from all over the country came out in their numbers to support their favourite Soca artistes. Many young artistes in the business such as 'Too Fabulous', Erphaan Alves and Ferdinand Smith all did well at keeping the crowd in an excited mode.

Other artistes who appeared at the festival and who had the audience in a frenzy were Ian 'Bunji Garlin' Alvarez and the Asylum Band, Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez, Roderick 'Chucky' Gordon, Umi Marcano and Shurwayne Winchester and the band Traffik.

Making his presence at the Coca Cola Youth Fest was Jamaican reggae/dancehall megastar, Kareem 'QQ' Dawkins, who sang several of his tunes including the popular hit "Stookie." The young artiste was able to move the crowd in ways that adult artistes could, which is quite rare for a child of his age. He also introduced a new, local, all-female group to enter the Soca scene - 'Infiniti' - who had collaborated on a record only a few hours earlier.

Other artistes that rocked the Complex were Naya George and his band Invazion, 3Suns, Denise Belfon and Ziggy Rankin.

Also, during the early half of the Youth Fest, 'Impulse' introduced the T&T Idol segment where young stars mimicked their favourite Soca artistes to the best of their abilities. Competing in this competition were Ferdinand Smith, Rhonda Richardson, Sherri-Ann Luke and Kendell Haynes. This proved to be a very entertaining portion of the Youth Fest and the competitors did good jobs in imitating popular Soca artistes.

Judging from the huge crowd that the Youth Fest attracts and the excitement that it generates, promoters would certainly have to spend more time looking at how to maximize venue space to accommodate the ever-expanding numbers.
