It would be unwise to assume that all good Calypsonians originate in the north of the island. On the contrary, contained within south Trinidad are some of the most talented and skilful Calypso artistes in the land. TUCO South Central's Kaiso Showcase, "The place where entertainment never stops," gave audience members a taste of some of the talent that south Trinidad possesses and presented quite a dynamic cast.

The grand opening of the 15th Annual Kaiso Showcase took place on Friday 26th January, 2007, at Palm's Club in San Fernando. The event, which was themed, "Nous Tout Ce Un Fami" or in English, "All Ah We Is One Family" seemed quite appropriate for the many styles and moods of Calypso delivered by the artistes. Artistes such as Collis Duranty, Heeralal Rampartap and Felix 'Breed' Joseph, all of whom had encore performances, represented the diversity that the Kaiso Showcase offered.

Other hits for the night were Carl 'Kaiso Nobby' Barrington with "Spit in the Cooler"; Brian London with "Obeah Man" and "I'm Shame"; Marsha 'Lady Adanna' Charles with "My Reply" and Victor 'Mr. Mac' Mc Donald with "Press One". But by far, the two biggest performances of the night were Felix 'Breed' Joseph's "Rasta Dey" and Balbhadar 'Rainbow' Seecharan's "Cock in Hand", each receiving multiple encores.

Also providing entertainment that night were the humorous MC, Damion Melville, Lydia Byron, who, with the rest of her entourage performed an energetic limbo dance, and music by the Kaiso Flames Chorus Singers and the United Services Brass Band.

Addressing the audience that night were Mr. Robert 'Trini' Elias and His Worship the Mayor of San Fernando, Alderman Kenneth Ferguson who was hurried off the stage by the audience who were anxious to hear sweet Kaiso.

The performers and their Calypsos are as follows:
